Cookie Policy

Draft for controlled trial. Final legal review required before unrestricted launch.

This Cookie Policy explains how SiteAxis uses cookies and similar technologies on the SiteAxis website and application.

This policy is intended for controlled trial and public-trial readiness review. Final legal review is required before unrestricted public launch, especially if analytics, marketing, advertising, session replay, or third-party tracking providers are enabled.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your browser or device when you visit a website or use an online service. Cookies can help websites function, remember preferences, support security, measure usage, and deliver certain features.

Similar technologies may include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, SDKs, or other browser-based identifiers.

2. How SiteAxis uses cookies

SiteAxis uses cookies and similar technologies for:

  • authentication and login;
  • session continuity;
  • security and abuse prevention;
  • remembering cookie preferences;
  • remembering optional interface preferences;
  • optional analytics, if enabled and consented;
  • optional marketing or campaign measurement, if enabled and consented.

Optional analytics and marketing cookies are disabled by default unless consent and provider approval are in place.

3. Cookie categories

3.1 Necessary cookies

Necessary cookies are required for SiteAxis to function.

They may support:

  • authentication;
  • account login;
  • session continuity;
  • route protection;
  • CSRF or security protections;
  • abuse prevention;
  • rate limiting;
  • cookie consent storage;
  • legal acceptance flow;
  • required application behavior.

Necessary cookies cannot be disabled through the SiteAxis preference center because the website and application may not work properly without them.

3.2 Preference cookies

Preference cookies are optional and may support non-essential user preferences, such as interface choices, display preferences, or saved non-security settings.

If disabled, some preferences may not be remembered.

3.3 Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies are optional.

If enabled, analytics cookies may help SiteAxis understand how users interact with the website or product, such as pages visited, feature usage, device type, browser type, and aggregated usage trends.

SiteAxis should not use analytics cookies to collect project record contents, passwords, tokens, private customer data, signed URLs, uploaded documents, or sensitive field contents.

Analytics providers must be approved before activation.

3.4 Marketing cookies

Marketing cookies are optional.

If enabled, marketing cookies may help SiteAxis measure campaigns, understand referral sources, or improve outreach.

At the current controlled trial stage, marketing cookies are disabled by default and no advertising or campaign tracking script should load unless approved and consented.

3.5 Security and abuse-prevention signals

Some security and abuse-prevention technologies may be necessary to protect signup, login, contact, API, and authenticated workflows.

These may include rate-limit counters, safe fraud-prevention signals, or session-related identifiers.

Where these are required for security, they are treated as necessary. Where they are optional analytics or marketing tools, they require consent.

4. Current controlled-trial cookie approach

During controlled trial readiness:

  • necessary cookies are enabled for required website and application operation;
  • optional analytics cookies are off by default;
  • optional marketing cookies are off by default;
  • preference cookies are optional;
  • no new optional analytics, marketing, advertising, or session replay provider should load before consent and internal approval;
  • users can manage non-essential cookie preferences.

5. Cookie preference center

SiteAxis provides a cookie preference center with options such as:

  • Accept all;
  • Reject non-essential;
  • Manage preferences;
  • Save preferences.

You may reopen cookie preferences from the public footer where available.

Your choices may be stored with safe metadata such as consent category, consent version, and timestamp.

6. Changing your preferences

You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the Cookie preferences link where available.

If you clear your browser cookies or use a different browser or device, you may need to set your preferences again.

7. Third-party cookies and providers

Some cookies may be set by third-party providers if those providers are approved and enabled.

Potential provider categories may include:

  • hosting and security;
  • authentication;
  • analytics;
  • marketing;
  • payment processing;
  • email delivery;
  • customer support tools.

Before unrestricted public launch, SiteAxis should publish or make available an updated provider list identifying the relevant cookie and processing providers.

8. Do Not Track and browser controls

Some browsers provide Do Not Track or similar controls. Because there is no consistent industry standard for responding to these signals, SiteAxis may not respond to all such signals unless required by law.

You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect website or application functionality.

9. Local storage and session storage

SiteAxis may use local storage or session storage for necessary application behavior, preferences, consent choices, or session-related functionality.

Optional analytics or marketing storage should not be used before consent and approval.

10. What SiteAxis does not intend to store in cookies

SiteAxis does not intend to store the following in cookies:

  • passwords;
  • full API keys;
  • service-role keys;
  • database URLs;
  • payment secrets;
  • private customer records;
  • uploaded document contents;
  • provider secrets;
  • signed download URLs;
  • raw authentication tokens where avoidable.

If you believe sensitive information has been stored or exposed incorrectly, contact SiteAxis.

11. Updates to this Cookie Policy

SiteAxis may update this Cookie Policy as the platform, providers, or legal requirements change.

If cookie use changes materially, SiteAxis may request updated consent or show an updated preference prompt.
